This post is from:
Washington is broken, and the career politicians and party insiders have failed us.
I am running for the United States Senate because Ohio needs a new conservative voice, someone with real-world business experience, someone who is blunt, bold, and unafraid to stand up for what’s right.
I grew up in Parma, a working-class suburb of Cleveland. My father was a high school teacher and a wrestling coach. My grandfather was president of the laborers’ union.
I went to work at an early age. I worked a bandsaw on the factory floor. I poured concrete. I started my own company at the age of 37, working alone with a desk and a phone in a small space above a dentist’s office.
Today, I’ve achieved success beyond my wildest imagination. I’ve achieved my American dream and I want to help more people achieve their American dream
Elections are about asking voters to hire someone. When I hire someone in business, I look at their resume. Have they been successful? Have they given back? But it’s even more important to find out who they are and what they believe. What are their values?
Well, I want to take a moment to tell you what I believe. I believe that America is the greatest country in the history of the world. I believe our rights come from God Almighty, not government. I believe in the rule of law, the power of the individual, and the sanctity of all human life.
I believe that politicians don’t create jobs, businesses do. I know, because I’ve done it. I believe it’s your money, not the government’s, and you know better how to spend it than they do.
I believe that our right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. I believe that families matter, churches matter, and neighborhoods and small towns matter.
I believe that we must reject those who categorize us and divide us by race, class, education, or religion.
And this may surprise you, but I truly believe our best days are still ahead of us. However, only if we recognize what we’re up against, tell the truth, and fight for what we believe.
Lockdowns have crippled our economy. The Democrats are proposing new, job-killing taxes. Spending is out of control. The left is trying to eliminate voter ID and make ballot harvesting national law. China is emerging as a corrupt new super power, and many in both parties are enabling them. AOC (Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez) is getting her "Green New Deal" in the form of the so-called "infrastructure" package. We have a new crisis at the border. Democrats are trying to strip our Second Amendment rights. Cops are being attacked, our cities are falling apart, and criminals are being released back into the streets.
That’s what we’re up against.
I know things look bleak right now. I’m worried about our country, and I know you are too. But I am still optimistic about our nation’s future.
Our country was founded by those who set out in rickety wooden ships across an ocean in search of freedom, religious liberty, opportunity and a better life.
The early frontiersmen who explored the Ohio valley faced down death, and the families who settled our state in search of a better life were guided by faith. Generation after generation worked hard, raised families and built towns, schools, churches and businesses. They looked out for one another. They risked everything. They built our state and our great nation.
We stand on the shoulders of giants. While the left attacks them, I stand in awe of them. Ohio has been through tough times before, and so has our country, but we’ve always come back. We’ve always overcome. We’ve prospered – and we’ll prosper once again – because we understand the stakes. We believe in America and we believe in the American dream.
I want you to think about your own families, your own neighborhoods and communities, your own churches and businesses and schools. That’s where we will win.
Our strength as America doesn’t begin in Washington. It begins with each of us.
